Medical Massage 60 min
Tired of nagging low back pain? Do your knees crunch and grind? Tingling in your hand and fingers? Medical and Orthopedic massage combines techniques to restore range of motion, flexibility and postural balance, which reduces chronic patterns of tension and the resulting pain. Orthopedic massage is frequently referred to as "Therapeutic," or "Medical" massage.
Techniques used will vary, but may include, myofascial release, active release, trigger point therapy, strain/counterstrain, multidirectional friction, compression and stretching techniques. This type of massage requires more client involvement to communicate soreness and follow instructions of the therapist.
Your session will include a health history and discussion about your particular area of concern. The therapist will perform a series of evaluative tests to locate imbalances that contribute to patterns of pain and discomfort. Then we will work together as a team to reduce discomfort and maximize the effectiveness of the session.
After your session, the therapist may make suggestions of stretching or strengthening exercises that can help maintain the balance reached during your treatment.
When prescribed by your doctor or chiropractor, some health insurance plans cover massage therapy. Call your plan adminstrator to get details of your plan. If you have coverage for this treatment, we will bill your health insurance directly as a courtesy to you.
